Boredom Busters

If you’re taking the summer off but would like a little bit of excitement every now and then, Boredom Busters are the thing for you! Each class meets for just one day, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., except as noted. Join us to cook, rock climb, make jewelry, or go to the zoo!Class limit is 12.

STOP ACTION ANIMATION. (ages 11-13). Love Wallace and Gromit? Want to learn how they do that? Join us on June 22 to discover the basics of this unique form of animation. $65.

MYSTERIES OF FIRE. (ages 8-13) On June 24 a real firefighter will teach you all about how fires start, how they get put out, how to determine if a fire is arson and how to build the world’s best campfire. $65.

BAKER’S DOZEN. (ages 9-13) Learn to make cookie classics with a pastry chef on JUNE 29! Chocolate chip, sugar cookies, peanut butter blossoms and more. You'll go home with a recipe packet and samples to fill your own cookie jar. $65.

JEWELRY. (ages 10-13) Start your own fashion trend with the earrings, necklaces, bracelets and pins you make from beads, felt, wire and other materials on July 1. $65.

ROCK CLIMBING. (ages 7-10) Our rock climbing expert will be here on July 6 to start you out on the traversing wall in our gym, then take you to Vertical Endeavors to climb even higher! $75.

BROADWAY IN A DAY. (ages 9-13). Can you put on a play in just one day? You bet! Learn your lines, grab a costume, and the curtain goes up on July 8. $65.

IRON CHEF. (ages 9-13) On July 13 you’ll see how the pros do it! You'll have six hours to determine a menu based on the ingredients at hand, do all the prep work and learn how to plate a gourmet meal.  Then you get to eat! $65.

DISC GOLF. (ages 8-12) It’s the game everybody’s talking about. On July 15 practice with a pro then try out your skills at one of our great local disc golf courses. $75 

A TRIP TO THE ZOO. (ages 7-13) Our animal specialist will take you to the Golden Valley Zoo on July 20 so you can visit your favorite animals, have lunch outside and fill your journal with drawings. $75. 

SWING DANCE. (ages 10-13) 2-8 p.m. Our dancers will teach you the basics of swing on July 22, then you’ll be off to the caves at Wabasha to dance to a live band. Partner not necessary! $75.

EAT AROUND TOWN. (ages 10-13) On July 27 it’s a food tour of Saint Paul! We'll visit a bakery and an ice cream shop, tour a grocery store and more. We'll also go to Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and have lunch at their fine dining restaurant, The Minnesota Room. $75.

CRITTER CARE. (ages 7-10) Join us on July 29 to learn the best way to brush your dog, what your cat is telling you when she puts her ears back, and how you should treat the baby rabbit you found in your backyard. $65.
