FSM Welcomes new music and art teachers
Friends School is pleased to welcome Brad Bradshaw and Laura Pereira as music and art specialists.
Brad brings a strong understanding of progressive education and has both a master’s and a doctorate in music. He is a vocalist, and has worked with students of voice and choir for many years. Brad resonates with our mission and is excited to be joining us. He is a singer, works with composer Libby Larsen, and is working on an opera about his hometown of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Brad’s sense of humor and passion for the power of music to transform lives will be a wonderful fit with FSM. He will teach two music classes each week to all students and offer after school music classes.
Laura worked with us last year as a (very) part-time art teacher for our “arts rotation” classes. We are pleased to have her join us to teach two art classes each week to all students. Laura is a certified art teacher with a an MEd in art education. She has been an art teacher for many years in a variety of venues and brings a strong understanding of progressive education to her work. Laura is thrilled to be moving into the new art classroom, with room for messy projects and lots of creativity!
