Physical Education Curriculum

Everyone benefits from regular physical activity. The goal of our physical education program is to help students learn how their bodies work and to develop a physically active lifestyle through positive exposure to a variety of competitive, non-competitive, team and individual activities. They also learn how an active lifestyle can enhance overall enjoyment, health and outlook on life. Instruction includes developing age-appropriate physical skills related to coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, agility and endurance. A variety of activities are explored: hand/eye-hand/foot coordination skills, games, rhythms and dance, ropes, tumbling, problem-solving, nutrition and fitness. In addition, students learn to follow and understand game rules for the purpose of play and officiating games.
