Extended Day

Hours

Morning Extended Day: 7:30-9:00 a.m.
Afternoon Extended Day 3:45-6:00 p.m.
Release Days: 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and as noted

Days of Operation 

We are open on all regular school days and release days. There is no extended day on snow days, breaks, or regular school holidays.

Available to 

All students enrolled in Friends School of Minnesota.

Staffing 

1 adult per 12 children

Programming 

Free play on the playground and in the gym, weather and schedule permitting. Common space for hanging out, board games, building blocks, marble runs, drawing, and Perler beads. Quiet space in the library for reading and  homework. On release days, all of the above plus special projects and a DVD.

Food 

Cereal bars and juice available in the morning for students arriving by 8:15 a.m. Afternoon snack and beverage offered at 3:45 p.m.

Contract Period 

One year. Two free contract changes; $10.00 per additional change. Please fill out a contract for each child.

Rates

The regular contract and release day rate is $6.00 per hour billed on the half hour. The drop-in rate is $6.50 per hour billed on the half hour.

Students receiving 65% or more of tuition assistance pay 50% of extended day fees.

Late Charges

Parents late for their contracted pick-up time are charged the drop-in rate for additional time. Parents picking children up after 6:00 p.m. are charged one dollar per minute.
