Admissions Open Houses

  • Thursday, November 11, 2010; 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 8, 2011; 6:30-8:30 p.m.

  • Friends School of Minnesota's evening admissions open houses are an excellent way to bring your whole family to tour the school, hear about our programs and meet some of the students, parents, faculty and staff.

Open houses include a tour by current students or parents, a presentation about FSM’s curriculum and programs and a chance to see classrooms and visit with teachers and staff.

Children’s activities are available so you can bring the whole family. No need to RSVP but you can send us your name and address to receive information about admissions events.

    School Day Visits

    Adult Tours  & Classroom Observations

Tours will resume in October. Summer tours are available for families interested in openings for 2010-11 or are from out of town. Contact admissions for an appointment.

School day visits include a tour, classroom observations and a chance to talk with school staff.

Visits are for adults only.  Children are welcome to attend the evening open houses and will visit during a school day as a part of the application process.

School day tours are by appointment 9:30-11:30 a.m. on many Monday and Thursday mornings October through April. Contact Susan for an appointment at 651-621-8937 or by email.

    Student Visits

If you apply and a mutual good fit seems likely, your child will come for an applicant visit during the school day. During the visit, prospective students get to see what FSM is like and interact with staff and peers. We administer academic assessments and get to know your child.

    • All kindergarten applicants visit in small groups for two hours on February 16, 2011 or February 23, 2011.  The kindergarten application deadline is February 15, 2011.
    • First grade applicants visit for a morning in a classroom of their peers.
    • Second-seventh grade applicants visit for a  full school day in a classroom of their peers.
