Days of Operation:
All regular school days, plus Release Days. There is no Extended
Day on snow days, breaks, or most school holidays.

Staffing:
1 adult per 18 children.
Programming:
Daily outdoor activities on the playground (weather permitting) or
in the gym. Quiet space for reading, individual projects. Common
space for hanging out, board games, individual and group art & crafts.
No television, videos, or computer.
Food:
Organic when possible. Snacks and juice are provided every
afternoon and in the morning to students who arrive by 8:15.
Contract Period:
One year. Two free contract changes; $10.00 per additional change.
Please fill out a contract for each child.
Keep sports, clubs, and music schedules in mind when registering.

Late Charges:
Parents late for after school pick-up will be charged $1/per minute.
Parents late for a 4:45 pm pick up will be charged the 6pm rate.
Late pick-ups after 6:00 pm will be charged $1/minute.
Late pick up after sports or clubs will be charged $5.00.

QUESTIONS ABOUT EXTENDED DAY CONTRACTS AND BILLING
1. How do contracts and drop-in work for Extended Day?
We have a new procedure for the 2007-2008 school year. The main goal of Extended Day is to offer extended care to parents who work longer than the school day. You may also have a contract to cover the time before your child's After School Music classes.
Although we will give preference to contracts for five days per week and/or contracts that cover work needs, we will be glad to take other contracts if there is space. We will do our best to accommodate all contracts but we cannot exceed 40 students on any one day. If we have requests for more than 40 contracts in one day we will offer spots to those who need coverage for work.
- AM EXTENDED DAY: Contracts and Drop-Ins are allowed for morning Extended Day.
- We request parents walk their child(ren) into the building and check them in to morning Extended Day.
- PM EXTENDED DAY: Contract only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- FRIDAY PM EXTENDED DAY: Contracts and Drop-Ins are allowed on Friday afternoons, space permitting. Please call the Front Office by 3:00PM Friday to reserve a Drop-In space. Parents must come into the building and sign-out a child in Extended Day. If your child goes to an After School Music class from Extended Day, please remember to sign-out in Extended Day.
2. How long is the contract period? Can I change or cancel my contract once I have signed up?
Your contract is good for the entire academic year unless you change or cancel it. Contracts may be changed 2 times during the year at no charge, with a $10.00 fee assessed for the 3rd and any subsequent changes. To change or cancel your contract, request a Contract Change Form from the front office or the Extended Day Coordinator. The change you request will go into effect on the first day of the month after you request it, assuming we will be able to accommodate the change.
For example, if you return your Change Form on October 11, the change will go into effect on November 1. Then from October 11 to November I, any additional days you use will be billed at the Drop-in rate.
3. What if I don't use part of my contract? Will I be reimbursed for unused services?
No. You must pay for contracted services until they have been officially changed or cancelled with a Contract Change Form.
4. Do I change my contract if my child is participating in a sports program or a club? Will I be charged for this change?
If, during the contract period, your child is involved in FSM Club or Sports activity when they would normally be in Extended Day, we will apply the contracted extended day fee for the impacted days to the Sport or Club fee. There is a place on the Sport or Club registration for this Extended Day information. There is no charge for this change in contract.
For example, if the Club meets Monday and Wednesday morning, the Monday and Wednesday morning Extended Day fees for that period will be applied to the Club fee. As a result, the Extended Day fee will always remain at the contracted level. You will be then be invoiced for any amount above the Extended Day portion for the Sport/Club fee.
5. How is the billing done for Extended Day?
When you have a contract, you make your first payment when you submit the contract. In November, you will begin to receive monthly invoices for the amount of your monthly payment. Each invoice is for Extended Day service provided in the previous month. Late or drop-in fees will be invoiced separately, and will not affect the monthly invoice amount unless you have made a change to your initial contract.
If you do not have a contract but have used Extended Day on a drop-in basis or have incurred late fees, you will be invoiced in the next month. For example, if your child dropped - in to Extended Day for six days in September, you will receive the invoice for those days in October.
6. May I use the Automatic Payment Plan for Extended Day and tuition?
FSM strongly encourages the use of the automatic payment plan. Contract amounts will be withdrawn from you account on the 30th of each month. If you currently use this plan for tuition you may add the Extended Day amount by signing the permission on the bottom of the Extended Day Contract form or you may fill out the attached automatic payment plan form.
7. Is financial aid available for Extended Day?
We are not able to extend the tuition aid award to Extended Day. Some families are eligible to have their Extended Day charges covered by their county governments. Please see the Bookkeeper if you would like information about this option.
