Shane Zack Classroom Aide
Shane has worked at FSM since 2004 as an extended day aide and classroom aide. He has a B.A. in Philosophy and Classics from Hamline University.
Shane grew up on a small farm in Northern Minnesota, and as a result he enjoys the outdoors, specifically whitewater canoeing and bird watching. Shane also plays the mandolin, and has played in a traditional bluegrass band for three years. He is always looking for someone to jam with.
Shane believes education is more than just a focus on academics.
“It is about human interaction, developing an ethics, and building a community. Education ought to bring people closer not only to a personal epistemology, but also to a communal or societal theory of knowledge. It should bring people closer to truth.”
“I like working at FSM because when I walk through the doors it is like setting foot on an island of sanity in a vast, terrible sea of hate, chaos and infinite close-mindedness.”
