Sarah Rossmann Deschamps Director of Development & Public Relations
Sarah has worked at FSM since 2008. She has a B.A. in international studies, Spanish, and history from Macalester College and an M.A. in education from Stanford University.
Previously, Sarah was a teacher and administrator at St. Paul Academy and Summit School. She worked as the assistant head of school at the Montessori School of Tokyo in Japan, where she ran the day-to-day operations of a school of 150 students and wrote the first self-study for that school to gain accreditation. Sarah has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House School in Minneapolis, assisting the siblings of very ill students to remain on track in their studies.
Sarah loves to travel and meet new people. She has lived in Bogotá, Tokyo, and several places in the United States. She is constantly thinking about new trips—especially ones her two daughters, FSM students, might enjoy.
“The most important aspect of education is to get to know each person as an individual. It is critical to learn what people are thinking, why they think that, and what they hope and dream. I love working at Friends School of Minnesota because I learn something new about someone every day. FSM is a wonderful place for children to grow. The school community meets each child where they are and inspires them to forge forward in their lives with grace and compassion.”
