Volunteering at Friends School

Friends School has a proud history of volunteer involvement.  Parents, grandparents, alumni and community members work in classrooms, serve on committees, organize fundraising events and much more. As a volunteer at FSM, you will be joining a dedicated team of teachers, staff and administrators who are working together for the success of all FSM students.  Your gift of time and talent will have an enormous impact on the children at Friends School.

Plant Sale Volunteering

Each year on Mother’s Day weekend in May, Friends School puts on the biggest fundraising plant sale in Minnesota, perhaps even in the Midwest! Over 2,300 varieties of plants are offered for sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  

Entirely volunteer-run, the Friends School Plant Sale has become a Twin Cities institution with loyal fans. You can become one of the 1000 Plant Sale volunteers who make the event a success.  And don't forget: volunteers are invited to shop at the pre-sale on Thursday evening!

Opens February 1 and can be found on the Plant Sale website. From set-up to clean-up and everything in between - you can pick a job you'll love!

FSM Family & Friends signup

There are also jobs just for FSM families and folks associated closely with the school who handle the money at the Plant Sale. We always need cashiers! Many of the coordinator positions are also done by FSM families and friends.  Please fill out the Plant Sale Volunteer Form for FSM Families to let us know how you can help.
